“And I think he'll be certainly on the shortlist of players United will be looking at.”

Would Frimpong be a good signing?

Frimpong has established himself as one of the Bundesliga’s most promising youngsters since arriving at Leverkusen from Celtic back in January 2021.

The speedster is enjoying a fine season so far, registering five goals and three assists in 21 appearances across all competitions.

As per FBref, Frimpong has also ranked in the 99th percentile for non-penalty expected goals and completed dribbles, 97th for touches in the attacking penalty area, 93rd for expected assists, and 86th for progressive passes received amongst his positional peers over the last year.

Whether Frimpong would be happy to play second-fiddle to Diogo Dalot is an issue Ten Hag needs to address before making a move, but the full-back would certainly be an exciting option for United to call upon.
