Tottenham Hotspur would have no trouble convincing Kyle Walker-Peters to return to Hotspur Way, believes journalist Pete O'Rourke.

Antonio Conte is thought to be in the market for a new right wing-back, and O'Rourke doubts the Southampton defender would turn down a move back to north London if the Italian came calling.

Tottenham transfer news - Kyle Walker-Peters

Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge told GiveMeSport in December that right wing-back is one area Spurs could look to address this month.

In terms of names, it remains to be seen if Tottenham will make a move for Walker-Peters, but The Athletic's Jack Pitt-Brooke thinks he would be a realistic target for the club.

With the same outlet having also reported last summer that Tottenham can activate a £30m buy-back clause, the 25-year-old certainly seems affordable.

The Premier League outfit did bring Djed Spence to north London in the last transfer window, but he has barely had a kick this season under Conte.

What has Pete O'Rourke said about Kyle Walker-Peters and Tottenham?

O'Rourke thinks the opportunity to return to Tottenham would be too hard for Walker-Peters to turn down.

Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: "Southampton look like they're in a real relegation dogfight now, so I think if Spurs did come calling for Kyle Walker-Peters, even though he's already left the club once, he would find it hard to turn down the opportunity to return to the club."

Would Kyle Walker-Peters be a good signing for Tottenham?

Since leaving Tottenham for Southampton on an initial loan deal, Walker-Peters has proven himself in the Premier League.

Last season, he was easily one of the Saints' best players as they went on to finish 15th in the table.

As per WhoScored, Walker-Peters made 1.8 tackles per game, which was one of the highest averages in his squad. The England international also completed two dribbles a match - none of his team-mates made more - so he could be ideal for that attacking right wing-back role at Tottenham.

"Kyle is an unbelievably smart footballer with a super football intelligence," former Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl told the Daily Echo last February.

"He plays left-back, right-back and now on the 10. In the sessions sometimes he plays six also, so he can play every position."

Ultimately, then, if Conte is looking for a new right wing-back, then he could do a lot worse than Walker-Peters, who could prove to be a bargain at £30m.
