Liverpool signing Cody Gakpo is a "much better fit" for the Anfield outfit than Darwin Nunez, claims journalist Dean Jones.
Jurgen Klopp has won the race for the winger, and Jones thinks he is more suited to the way the Reds function compared to his new team-mate.

Liverpool transfer news - Cody Gakpo
Liverpool recently announced the signing of Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven.
"The 23-year-old forward will officially become a Reds player at the start of the January transfer window after agreeing personal terms and successfully completing a medical at the AXA Training Centre," a statement on their official club website read.
On his move, Gakpo said: “I feel really good. I’m really excited to be here. I’m looking forward to start training and start playing for this amazing club."
According to BBC Sport, the Reds will pay PSV a fee of around £44m in total.
What has Dean Jones said about Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Liverpool?
Out of Gakpo and Nunez, Jones thinks the former is the better fit for Liverpool.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, the transfer reporter said: "Darwin Nunez is just not technically the same as the rest of this team, and I think while Jurgen Klopp obviously believes in him to a certain degree, Gakpo is a much better fit for the way that Liverpool function."

What will Cody Gakpo bring to Liverpool?
If Gakpo adapts well to the Premier League, then he should add more firepower and creativity to this Liverpool side.
As per Transfermarkt, he scored nine goals and provided 12 assists in 14 Eredivisie appearances for PSV this season.

The Dutchman's output in the last campaign was also impressive, as he recorded 25 goal contributions in 27 league games - an incredible return.
Alongside Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz, he could form part of a very dangerous attack at Anfield. The question is, though, where would that leave Nunez?
Well Liverpool, of course, invested a lot of money in the Uruguayan in the last transfer window, while they have had some injury problems with the likes of Diaz and Diogo Jota this season. When you consider that, you would still expect him to get a lot of game time under Klopp.
Gakpo's arrival will certainly put pressure on Nunez, Jota and Diaz, though, but perhaps that competition could help bring the best out of them and do wonders for Liverpool in the grand scheme of things.
