Leeds United are believed to be interested in Southampton striker Che Adams, and they have now been told that he 'would seriously consider' a move to Elland Road by journalist Pete O'Rourke.

The Whites have been long-term admirers of the forward, and Jesse Marsch may still be interested in bringing him to the club in the January transfer window.

Leeds United Transfer News - Che Adams

As per the Athletic, journalist Phil Hay recently detailed that a move for Adams should not be discounted in January, as he is someone who has been discussed for a transfer switch by Leeds chiefs before.

Football Insider report that the Whites registered their interest in signing the Scotland international in the summer, after having a bid just shy of £20m rejected way back in January 2020, when Marcelo Bielsa was still at the helm.

According to Hampshire Live, the Saints were willing to sanction the departure in the summer transfer window, amid interest from fellow Premier League side Everton, but it is not yet known whether this stance has changed, given that they currently need all the help they can get in their relegation battle.

What has Pete O'Rourke said about Che Adams?

In an interview with GIVEMESPORT, O'Rourke pointed towards Southampton's current plight and the potential for Adams to sign a better deal as reasons why he may consider a switch to Elland Road: "Obviously nobody wants to be involved in a relegation fight, and I'm sure if an offer did come in it's something that Che Adams would seriously consider.

"Again, if he did move clubs he'd probably be on a more lucrative contract as well, so that will come into his thinking."

Would Che Adams improve Leeds?

It is strange that former Southampton manager Ralph Hassenhuttl was seemingly willing to let him go in the summer, as the 26-year-old has a decent record in front of goal since arriving at St Mary's for £15m in 2019, as per Sky Sports.

The Scot weighed in with seven goals and three assists in the Premier League last term, averaging a goal contribution every three games, as per Transfermarkt, and he has managed to improve on that figure this term, despite playing in a struggling side.

With eight goals across all competitions, the Leicester-born marksman has already matched his tally from last season, and out of Leeds' current options, only Rodrigo has scored more, having netted on nine occasions, as per BBC Sport.

Adams, who has been lauded as 'brilliant' by journalist Phil McNulty, would be a fantastic option for Marsch, but his recent form may have caused his current club to change their stance on selling him.
