Wolverhampton Wanderers have ‘moved into the picture’ for Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres, journalist Dean Jones has told GiveMeSport.
The 24-year-old is believed to be on the radar of several Premier League sides following his impressive exploits in the Championship for the Sky Blues over the last 18 months.

Swedish outlet Sportsbladet have claimed that Wolves are ‘keen’ on Gyokeres, although they are set to face competition from top-flight rivals Everton and Fulham.
A recent report from Football League World has also stated that Crystal Palace, Southampton and West Ham United are all contemplating moves for the Sweden international this month.
Coventry will supposedly offer Gyokeres, who has been labelled “very strong”, a new and improved contract in an attempt to keep him at the club.
The 6 foot 2 ace’s current £4,500-per-week contract is due to expire in the summer of 2024, leaving the Midlands outfit in a vulnerable position around the negotiating table.
Wolves have already strengthened their attacking options by picking up Matheus Cunha from Atletico Madrid, yet manager Julen Lopetegui may be eager to snap up further reinforcements.
What has Jones said about Gyokeres?
When asked if Gyokeres is a genuine attacking option for Wolves, Jones revealed that he ‘actually’ is but that Lopetegui’s charges would need some ‘really good negotiating’ to secure his signature.

In an interview with GMS, he said: “Yeah, he is actually. They have moved into the picture for that signing.
“I've heard quite a bit around it, actually, and I'd say the one thing it's going to take from Wolves’ point of view is some really good negotiating.”
Would Gyokeres be a good signing?
Gyokeres established himself as one of the deadliest finishers in the second-tier of English football last season, registering 18 goals and five assists in 47 appearances for Coventry.
The highly-rated star has carried that form over into 2022/23 too, finding the back of the net on 12 occasions in his 25 league outings to date, taking his senior tally up to 64 strikes.
As per FBref, Gyokeres has also ranked in the 99th percentile for progressive passes received, 97th for shot-creating actions, 95th for competed dribbles and touches in the attacking penalty area, and 86th for expected assists amongst his positional peers over the last year.
Gyokeres could be a valuable addition to Wolves’ forward line, therefore, aiding Lopetegui’s mission to drag his side away from the relegation zone.
