Cristiano Ronaldo has officially been unveiled as an Al-Nassr player.

The 37-year-old has penned a lucrative £175 million-per-year with the Saudi Professional League side.

Prior to being presented to the Al-Nassr fans at the team's home stadium, Mrsool Park, on Tuesday, Ronaldo took part in a press conference to further discuss the transfer.

When speaking to the press, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner confirmed that his adventure in European football is now over.

Ronaldo will not play in Europe again

The former Manchester United striker said: "I’m so proud to make this big decision in my life. In Europe, my work is done. I won everything. I played for the most important clubs in Europe. For me now it’s a new challenge.

“For me, this is a great opportunity not only in football but also to change the mentality of the new generation.

“I had many opportunities in Europe, many clubs in Brazil, in Australia, in USA and even in Portugal. They tried to sign me but I gave my word to this club to develop not only the football but other parts of this amazing country.

“I know what I want, this is a good chance to help to grow many important points.”

Ronaldo also touched on the criticism aimed at his mega-money Saudi deal.

Ronaldo added: "I really don’t worry about what people say. I am really, really happy to be here.

“I know the league is very competitive, I saw many games. I hope to play after tomorrow if the coach thinks there’s a chance.

“I’m ready to keep playing football. I’m a unique player, it’s good to come here. I beat all the records there, I want to beat a few records here.

“This contract is unique but I’m a unique player, so for me it’s normal.”

Fair play, Cristiano.

It was a fairly normal press conference truth be told. Well, at least until the end of it anyway.

When the audience was asked to give Ronaldo a round of applause, someone in the press room decided to shout the Portuguese's iconic 'SIUUU' at the superstar.

It certainly caught Ronaldo a tad off-guard...

Get ready to hear a lot of that in Saudi Arabia, Cristiano.

Al-Nassr manager Rudi Garcia was also present and unsurprisingly, he waxed lyrical about his new signing.

“Cristiano is one of the best players in the world, he’s a legend," Garcia said.

“It’s an honour for me and Al-Nassr to welcome Cristiano. I’m sure that for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia it’s really fantastic that Cristiano is coming with us to play.

“In my life, I’ve seen that the great, great players like Cristiano are the easiest to manage. We are here to win, nothing else.

“My goal with Cristiano is to make him happy. I want him to enjoy playing and winning with Al-Nassr.”

Best of luck, Rudi.
