Joao Felix would have been a "better option" for Arsenal than Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhailo Mudryk, believes journalist Dean Jones.
The Ukrainian is thought to be Mikel Arteta's priority right now but, in terms of making an immediate impact at the Emirates, Jones had more confidence in Felix.

As per The Athletic, Chelsea have reached a verbal agreement to sign Felix on loan from Atletico Madrid.
The outlet states that the 23-year-old, who has a "special talent", according to team-mate Alvaro Morata, has also been the subject of interest from Arsenal and Manchester United. But it is Chelsea who look to have won the race for him.
Signing him permanently would have been an expensive operation for any club, with the Evening Standard previously claiming that Atletico wanted £86m for the Portuguese youngster.
Mudryk's price tag is not a low one either. According to The Telegraph, Arsenal have made the 22-year-old their top target but could face having to pay up to £88m for his signature.
The newspaper claims that Chelsea are also interested in Mudryk, complicating things further for the north London outfit.

Out of Felix and Mudryk, Jones thinks the former is the better option for a title-chasing side.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, the transfer reporter said: "Arsenal, at a time where they have the opportunity to go win a Premier League title, if you're looking for someone to come in and make an impact at this moment, then Joao Felix would have been the better option."

Will Arsenal definitely sign Mykhailo Mudryk now?
It is clear that Mudryk is the player who Arsenal really want, with multiple outlets, including the MailOnline, reporting that they have already made two bids for the Ukraine international.
Shakhtar's valuation, though, seems to be a problem. It is hard to imagine Arsenal paying over £80m in January for someone like Mudryk.
He is certainly having a good season and is proving his talent, scoring 10 goals and providing eight assists so far this term, as per Transfermarkt. But at 22 and having not played outside of Ukraine, he is still quite unproven.
Ultimately, if Arsenal are to sign Mudryk, you suspect that the price tag Shakhtar have slapped on him will have to come down, so nothing is guaranteed.
