Stone Cold Steve Austin versus Vince McMahon is the greatest rivalry in WWE history.

It is the rivalry that won WWE the Monday Night Wars away from WCW and was the kickstart of the entire Attitude Era. Nothing quite defined “Attitude” like the Texas Rattlesnake dropping his boss with a stunner. It was what so many fans wanted to do to their own boss, and its why it worked so well.

The October 3rd 2005 edition of Raw was the Raw Homecoming, as the red brand returned to the USA Network and as such, it featured all of the heavy hitters. A stunner on Vince was anticipated, but Stone Cold went one better, and got the whole McMahon family.

Each and every McMahon suffered the wrath of the Rattlesnake

In a classic segment, Stone Cold and Vince shared the ring together with the WWE chairman of the board desperately looking to exit. Just as he was set to, Stone Cold told him not to leave, showed him the finger and dropped him with a stunner. You’d seen it countless times, but it’s still so good.

What followed was even more epic. Shane came out to defend his father’s honour and got stunnered almost instantly. Stephanie showed a bit more fight, even slapping Stone Cold., who told her he wished she had not done that but that he was also glad she did and WHAM. Stunner no.3.

Just when you thought Steve was finished, he outdid even his own lofty standards of stunners, levelling the matriarch of the McMahon family, Linda, after tucking into a beer with her. It might be the single worst stunner in WWE history, but its genuinely hilarious entertainment.

It's nonstop fun for Stone Cold

From start to finish, its just excellence from Austin, who looks to be having an absolute blast as he does the two things his character did best; drink beers and hit stunners.

The fans are also absolutely revelling in it, as they always are when Austin appears. His standing amongst wrestling fans might be the highest of anyone to ever do it.

Other noteworthy mentions are for Shane and Stephanie, who had been off WWE TV for the prior two years. What a way to announce your return.

Commers left on the tweet reflect the absolute hilarity of it all.
