Whilst many of us were stuffing our faces with turkey and chocolate, Jon Jones was clearly working out in the gym over the Christmas holidays.

The 35-year-old UFC fighter is looking absolutely massive right now, thanks to some serious hard work and training over December and into January.

With speculation of Jones taking on current UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in early 2023, it is clear the American has been bulking and has built up a serious amount of muscle.

A video of Jones training in the gym sees him lifting huge weights for fun and making us all feel tiny in comparison.

Reportedly sitting at around 260lbs or over 18 stone, the video features voiceovers from Joe Rogan, who claims Jones ‘could be the best 240lb heavyweight in the world.’

Plotting to become a two-division champion, Jones tweeted: “My goal, my dream is to have my first heavyweight title fight look like my first light heavyweight title fight.

"Pure domination.”

The New-York-born fighter can be seen lifting enormous weights and practicing jabs, uppercuts and strikes in the video, which would scare any potential opponent.

Holding many UFC records in the light heavyweight division, including longest win streak and most wins, Jones’ only professional loss was in a controversial disqualification against Matt Hamill, a decision that even Rogan described as ‘bull****’ in the voiceover.

Jones hasn’t fought in the UFC for almost three years and many fans are desperate to see him make his long-awaited return.

He conquered the light heavyweight division, and now he wants to make his mark in the heavyweight division. If he can do that, he'll undoubtedly confirm his status as the GOAT of the UFC.

Jon Jones vs Francis Ngannou - what do we know?

Enter Francis Ngannou, the Cameroonian current UFC heavyweight champion who is just a year older than Jones at 36.

Many, including Rogan, believe a bout between the two huge fighters would be colossal and could take place later in 2023.

The Predator Ngannou recently spoke to Combate, as per The Sun, saying: “Well, this is the plan [to fight Jones in March 2023], but when you make a plan, you have to go step-by-step.

“Let’s settle the contract first.

"I’m excited. I’m excited to get back to the Octagon, but in good condition, with a good structure.

"It would be a good money fight. But there are many money fights. They (the UFC) can have many money fights."

Ngannou hasn’t fought in the Octagon since January 22, 2022, where he defeated Ciryl Gane to defend the heavyweight title.

UFC and fighting fans alike will be hoping the rumours are true and the two behemoths really are closer to signing a contract in the coming months.
