Chelsea have got Borussia Monchengladbach and France striker Marcus Thuram “on their list” as Graham Potter looks to bring in attacking reinforcements at Stamford Bridge, talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook has told GiveMeSport.

The £82k-per-week earner has entered the final six months of his contract with the Bundesliga outfit this month.

According to 90min, Chelsea have spoken to Thuram’s representatives in the hope of securing a January move for the Frenchman.

The Blues’ only senior centre-forward option currently available at Stamford Bridge is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, after 21-year-old Armando Broja suffered a season-ending anterior cruciate ligament rupture in December, as confirmed by the club.

Meanwhile, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has written in his column for CaughtOffside that a Premier League move is the priority for Thuram this month, after spending the last three and a half seasons with Monchengladbach.

Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor has recently told GiveMeSport that Chelsea would be silly to not make a move for the 25-year-old during the transfer window.

And Crook believes that the Blues are “definitely exploring” a deal to bring Thuram to Stamford Bridge in January.

When asked about the possibility of Chelsea signing another forward after securing the signature of João Félix, Crook told GiveMeSport: “Thuram is on their list for sure, he’s out of contract in the summer. It just depends if there's an appetite from Monchengladbach to cash in now, but they’re definitely exploring that.”

Thuram – who has been labelled as “world-class” by current Wolfsburg sporting director Marcel Schäfer – has enjoyed an excellent Bundesliga campaign so far, having hit the back of the net ten times and provided three assists in 15 appearances, according to Transfermarkt.

The Bild, though AS have reported that both Atlético Madrid and Manchester United join the Blues in their interest of the forward.

The Parma-born star compares favourably in comparison to his positional peers after ranking in the top 7% of forwards across Europe’s big five leagues as well as the Champions League and Europa League for non-penalty goals per 90 minutes (0.62) and dribbles completed per 90 (1.71) over the last 365 days, according to FBref.

Therefore, if Chelsea were able to snap up the signing of Thuram for the reported prices being banded around, they could well secure themselves a bargain of a centre-forward.
