Everton are "very keen" on signing Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga, talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook has informed GiveMeSport.

However, Crook thinks any move is likely to depend on the Red Devils bringing in another attacker.

Everton transfer news - Anthony Elanga

Journalist Simon Phillips recently told GMS that Everton have spoken to Elanga's agent about a loan move.

The 20-year-old, who is earning £43,000 a week at Old Trafford, according to Salary Sport, is not getting too many minutes under Erik ten Hag right now.

As per Transfermarkt, his start in the 2-1 win against Fulham just before the World Cup was only his fifth in the Premier League this season. When you consider that, a loan may just be what he needs at this moment in time.

Whether a move to struggling Everton appeals to him, though, remains to be seen.

What has Alex Crook said about Anthony Elanga and Everton?

Crook says Elanga has suitors, which includes Frank Lampard's Everton.

Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: "I know there's interest in Elanga. Bournemouth were close to signing him in the summer.

"I think Everton are very keen as well, but that would depend, I think, on United bringing in a sort of Memphis Depay to bolster numbers because, at the moment, he's still coming on towards the end of games and still playing his part in the team."

Anthony Elanga's stats for Man United

Elanga has played almost 50 senior games for United, as per Transfermarkt, which is pretty impressive for someone his age.

Across those matches, the Sweden international has scored a few goals, with two coming in the Premier League last season.

Everton fans will want a bit more than that, especially with the club fighting for survival, but as a regular starter at Goodison Park, perhaps Elanga's output will go up.

He certainly has a lot of potential, with Alex Turk of the Daily Express describing him as a "phenomenal talent".

All in all, Elanga, who is valued at around £35m by the CIES Football Observatory, is by no means the worst loan signing Everton can make this month.

If the Merseyside club are to get out of the hole they are currently in, though, it is going to take way more than the United academy graduate arriving at Goodison Park. With Dominic Calvert-Lewin struggling to stay fit, they need at least another striker.
