Tottenham Hotspur target Leandro Trossard would really suit Antonio Conte's side, claims journalist Dean Jones.

However, Jones has suggested that Chelsea and Newcastle United could also enter the conversation for the Brighton & Hove Albion star and thinks they would be favourites ahead of Spurs to sign him.

Tottenham transfer news - Leandro Trossard

TalkSPORT recently reported that Tottenham hold "genuine interest" in Trossard.

The outlet states that their north London rivals Arsenal are also sniffing about, so there does seem to be quite a few clubs who are keen on the winger.

The above comes as no surprise given the impact Trossard has made at Brighton this season. In 16 Premier League appearances, he has scored seven goals, as per Transfermarkt.

In October, The Northern Echo said Newcastle would look into signing the 28-year-old this month and claimed that Brighton valued him at around £30m.

What has Dean Jones said about Leandro Trossard and Tottenham?

While Jones thinks Trossard would be a good signing for Tottenham, he feels the Brighton man is more likely to end up at Stamford Bridge or St James' Park.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the transfer insider said: "The Trossard link to Tottenham is interesting because his versatility would really suit them.

"However, if he is really going to move, then I would say both Chelsea and Newcastle are also going to be in that conversation and might be more likely landing spots given their level of interest and power in this current market."

Will Leandro Trossard leave Brighton this month?

It definitely cannot be ruled out. He clearly has his admirers and not everything seems to be perfect behind the scenes at the Amex right now.

Trossard was recently dropped from Brighton's starting XI, something manager Roberto De Zerbi has spoken about.

"I don’t know. I think he’s one of the best players for us and one of the most important players for us," De Zerbi told The Athletic after being asked if speculation about Trossard's future had been affecting him.

"I’d like to always play with Leo in the first eleven, but it doesn’t depend only on me, it depends on Leo."

The Seagulls boss later went on to add: "I like him as a player, but I want more from him, because he can play better, he can work harder, he can run more on the pitch and I want players who give 100 per cent in every training session and every game."

You would have to say, then, that Trossard's future at the Amex is far from certain, with a move to Hotspur Way one possibility that could open up for the Belgium international.
