Everton transfer news - Arnaut Danjuma

The MailOnline recently reported that Everton have enquired about signing Danjuma, who has been described as a "nightmare for defenders" by Football Insider pundit Kevin Phillips.

The same outlet states, though, that any deal is likely to be a loan with an option to buy at the end of the season due to financial restrictions.

According to MARCA, Danjuma has a £45m release clause, so that is the price clubs who are interested in signing the attacker permanently could be looking at.

With Everton really struggling this season, however, manager Frank Lampard will be desperate to win the race for his signature.

What has Fabrizio Romano said about Arnaut Danjuma and Everton?

Romano has told GMS that Everton are one of several teams who are currently chasing Danjuma.

On the former Bournemouth man, the Italian journalist said: "For Danjuma, there are many clubs interested. I'm told Everton are one of them. It's true that Everton are pushing, but Nottingham Forest are also among clubs exploring this move."

Would Arnaut Danjuma be a good signing for Everton?

Without a doubt. The Netherlands international would bring some much-needed firepower to Lampard's relegation-threatened team.

Since arriving at Villarreal, Danjuma has proven to be a really dangerous forward. For example, last season, he scored 16 goals in all competitions for the Spanish side (via Transfermarkt).

Where he really impressed was in the Champions League, helping his team to make it all the way to the semi-finals. In 11 appearances, he scored six times.

Danjuma was also one of the better dribblers in his squad that campaign. According to WhoScored, he completed 1.4 dribbles per league game, putting him in the top four Villarreal players for that category.

As of now, Lampard has the support of Everton owner Farhad Moshiri.

"I have faith in the work being done not only by our manager, but our director of football [Kevin Thelwell] and our board of directors," Moshiri said (via BBC Sport) in response to an open letter from the Everton Fans' Forum.

"That faith is based on my knowledge of the depth and quality of work being done both at Finch Farm and the Royal Liver Building [Everton's head office] - and of the plan that is in place."

The Toffees manager, however, will know that he needs to start picking up results, and Danjuma is the kind of player who can help him do that.
