Manchester United are "not negotiating" for Mohammed Kudus or Axel Disasi in the January window, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano explained to GIVEMESPORT.

The Red Devils have been linked with the pair, but Romano insists deals for the two are unlikely to happen in January.

Manchester United transfer news - Mohammed Kudus and Axel Disasi

Things are going well for Erik ten Hag at Manchester United right now. In the mix for the top-four, with a favourable League Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest to come, the Dutch manager has transformed United's fortunes in just a short space of time.

From back-to-back defeats at beginning of the campaign, United are now being tipped by some to have an outside shot at the title, having last won the Premier League a decade ago. While it may be a step too far too soon for ten Hag this season, there is confidence flowing throughout Old Trafford that United are on their way back up and could challenge for top spot in the coming years.

As their performances increase, the calibre of talent linked with a switch to Old Trafford also improves, with Mohammed Kudus or Axel Disasi both said to be on United's radar.

Kudus, who played 42 times under ten Hag at Ajax, has impressed for the Dutch side this season, netting 10 goals in 21 appearances. The 22-year-old is mooted as one of Europe's hottest prospects and a report in the Daily Star suggests United are eyeing up a deal for Kudus. According to the report, Ajax are holding out for at least £40 million, with Kudus contracted to the record Eredivisie champions until June 2025.

As for Disasi, he is another player United are rumoured to have shown interest in the defender, who is also under contract until the summer of 2025. As per a report in the Daily Mail, United are keen on bringing Disasi to Old Trafford, with initial negotiations having already taken place. The word coming out of France is that Disasi wouldn't be available for anything less than €50 million for the 24-year-old, as interest begins to hot up.

What has Romano said about Kudus and Disasi to United?

Despite reports claiming United are keen on the duo, transfer expert Romano revealed United are not in negotiations for either Kudus or Disasi in January.

Speaking in an interview with GMS, Romano claimed: "At the moment, from what I’m told they’re not negotiating for Mohammed Kudus or Axel Disasi."

Would Kudus and Disasi suit United and ten Hag's style of play?

An energetic forward, Kudus has the making of a United player already and given his experience with former boss ten Hag, it's difficult to see the Ghanaian international not being a success. Averaging over a goal every other game for Ajax, as per Fbref, there is little doubt Kudus would shine for United at Old Trafford.

While Disasi hasn't enjoyed the luxury of ten Hag's coaching in the past, the Paris-born defender has already shown his quality during 107 senior appearances for Monaco. Capable of playing at centre-back o right-back, Disasi is a versatile customer, who is also an accomplished passer of the ball. As per Fbref, Disasi averages just shy of four progressive passes per 90 minutes.
