Wolverhampton Wanderers are “really interested” in striking a loan agreement with Manchester United to add right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Julen Lopetegui’s squad at Molineux, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has told GiveMeSport.

Wolves are looking at additions that will help them remain in the Premier League come the end of the season.

Wolves transfer news – Aaron Wan-Bissaka

According to a report from Foot Mercato, Wolves are prioritising a loan deal for Wan-Bissaka this month, after it looked as if he was deemed surplus to requirements by Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag earlier this season.

However, the report does say that the Dutchman is appreciative of the 25-year-old at Old Trafford and the player would like to remain in Manchester to fight for his place, with the Daily Mail now reporting that the Crystal Palace product could be set to remain at Old Trafford.

TalkSPORT reporter Alex Crook has recently told GiveMeSport that Lopetegui is very keen to secure the services of the 2019 £50m signing at Molineux in January, with his former club also keen on seeing the player make a return to Selhurst Park.

And Romano has stated that both clubs have asked about Wan-Bissaka’s availability in the “last weeks” suggesting that a loan move could still be on the cards.

What has Romano said about Wolves and Wan-Bissaka?

Romano told GiveMeSport: “Crystal Palace and Wolves in the last weeks have asked about him. West Ham also asked in December but that’s gone quieter. Palace and Wolves are really interested in Wan-Bissaka so let's see how the conversation with the player and with Man United will go.”

Would Wan-Bissaka be a good signing for Wolves?

Wan-Bissaka – who has been dubbed “very powerful” by one of his former coaches – had endured a frustrating spell at Old Trafford this season, having only played in four minutes of the club’s Premier League campaign before the break for the World Cup, as per Transfermarkt.

However, since the resumption of club football, the full-back has made four appearances due to Diogo Dalot’s injury suffered when on Portugal duty in Qatar last month, suggesting that there could be a future for the £90k-per-week earner at Old Trafford.

It remains to be seen as to whether the Wolves target will keep his place in ten Hag’s side now that Dalot has made his return to the side, but after helping the Red Devils keep three clean sheets and four victories in the league, he could potentially have showcased why he deserves better than a place on the bench at Old Trafford.

Therefore, a loan move to Molineux could prove to be an ideal move for all parties, as Wan-Bissaka looks to reboot his top-flight career.
