Everton stumbled to yet another defeat on Saturday afternoon as they were beaten by Southampton in their Premier League clash at Goodison Park.

Everton are in wretched form but were hoping to taste victory for the first time in nine games against rock-bottom Southampton.

Frank Lampard's side started well and took the lead in the 39th minute through Amadou Onana.

But a second half brace from James Ward-Prowse stunned Everton as Southampton fought back to win the points.

Everton fans confront Yerry Mina in the street

Yerry Mina has struggled for game-time in the 2022/23 season.

The Colombian has made just three appearances for the Merseyside club in a campaign that has been riddled with injury.

He was unused substitute as his side fell to defeat against the Saints.

Despite not featuring in the game, Mina was confronted by angry Everton fans in the street following the match.

Mina appeared to get out of his car to speak to fans while he was making his way home.

An animated Everton supporter says to Mina: "You're going to leave us if we go down, aren't you? If we go down to the Championship you'll leave won't you? If we go down to the Championship, will you stay? No you won't.

"I want you to show heart lad. Show us a bit of heart lad. Be a leader. Speak out. All we want is passion. Show us a bit of passion."

Mina then replies: "I will give my life for this club."

The Everton fan responds: "Start speaking up lad. Show them that you are the man. You could be our captain if you speak up. Wear the armband."

Mina then shakes hands with the supporter and a few others while a policeman checks in to make sure everything is fine.

In another video, an Everton supporter thanks Mina for coming out to speak to them and says 'he is more of a man than any of them'.

Fair play to Mina for fronting up to Mina and listening to their concerns.

And well done to the Everton supporters for not taking things too far and having a civil conversation with one of their players.

Everton remain in 19th and are one point off safety.
