Arsenal 'have a very good chance' of signing Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka on a pre-contract agreement if he chooses to leave the Bundesliga outfit, BILD Sport journalist Christian Falk has informed GiveMeSport.

The 23-year-old is out of contract in the summer of 2023 and is therefore free to talk to foreign clubs over a potential pre-contract agreement now, or he can wait until the summer.

Arsenal transfer news - Evan Ndicka

Reports from Italy last month suggested that Arsenal were close to completing a deal for Ndicka having seen off competition from Jose Mourinho's Roma, but things have gone very quiet since then.

Lately, the Manchester Evening News has reported that multiple clubs from around Europe are chasing a possible deal for the 6 ft 4 star on a free transfer, with Arsenal representing one of the interested parties in his services.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring his situation, as there is no sign yet of the former France Under-21 international agreeing to fresh terms at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Football London has since detailed earlier this month that the Bundesliga outfit have put a new three-year contract offer on the table to try and keep him at Deutsche Bank Park.

What has Christian Falk said about Evan Ndicka?

BILD Sport journalist Falk has shed light on the situation, saying that Arsenal would have a 'very good chance' of signing Ndicka should he choose to leave Eintracht Frankfurt; despite this he also detailed that his current employers are 'hoping' to keep a hold of him.

Falk told GMS: "If he is leaving the club, I would say yes, they have a very good chance. But also Frankfurt is hoping to keep him; he has an offer on the table for a new deal.

"It's a three-year contract. He gets more money. But also, if he gets €3-5m, this is what I've heard."

Would Ndicka be a good signing on a free transfer?

Given his qualities and the fact he would come in for free, Ndicka would be a fantastic piece of business for the Gunners which explains why so many clubs are interested in him.

His awareness of dangerous situations is one of his main attributes, evidenced in the fact he has successfully performed an average of 5.3 clearances per match in the league, as per WhoScored.

Ndicka has also won 137 tackles in the Bundesliga across 2022/23, making his mark as a domineering presence in the Eintracht Frankfurt backline. Financially, moving for the 23-year-old makes a lot of sense and would help to provide healthy competition for Arsenal's central defenders without having to pay a penny in transfer fees.

It will be interesting to see if Arteta looks to get a deal over the line or whether the former Auxerre man will commit his future to Eintracht Frankfurt for the coming years.
