Arsenal's rumoured pursuit of Raphinha is "probably a no-go", transfer insider Dean Jones has revealed to GIVEMESPORT.

It comes after the Premier League leaders missed out on signing primary target Mykhailo Mudryk, who joined London rivals Chelsea instead.

Arsenal transfer news - Raphinha

Having appeared Arsenal-bound prior to Chelsea's sensational swoop, the Mudryk saga ended with Todd Boehly and Co. splashing out £88.5 million on the Ukrainian international (Sky Sports).

Disappointment for Arsenal, who had entered the January window with Mudryk as their number-one target, before seeing a £57 million bid rejected by Shakhtar Donetsk last month (The Athletic).

It comes after Arsenal were beaten to Joao Felix's signature, by none other than Chelsea themselves, with the Gunners now scrambling around for alternatives in the remaining weeks of the window.

According to the MailOnline, one name that has popped up is ex-Leeds United forward Raphinha, who made the switch from West Yorkshire to Spain for £55 million in the summer window (Sky Sports).

Raphinha had been on Arsenal's radar in the summer, with The Athletic reporting in June that Mikel Arteta's side were front runners for the Brazilian's signature.

Obviously, a move didn't materialise then and there are suggestions that despite a reignited interest, it's unlikely Arsenal will land Raphinha in January either.

What has Dean Jones said about Raphinha to Arsenal?

Speaking in an interview with GMS, transfer insider Jones revealed Raphinha was unlikely to leave Barcelona, with the ex-Leeds forward eyeing up a successful end to the season in Catalonia.

"You'd imagine Raphinha is probably a no-go," Jones told GMS.

"It seems he's going to be unwilling to give up on Barcelona at this stage.

"Especially because you see him having a lot of fun beating Real Madrid (in the Supercopa) on Sunday, getting his hands on a trophy. I think he wants a bit more of that.”

Who else might Arsenal target instead of Raphinha?

Having missed out on both Felix and Mudryk in the January window already, there is growing concern Arsenal may end the January transfer window without having bolstered their attack.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, that's unlikely to be the case, with the Italian journalist recently telling GMS that Arsenal "will have a Plan B".

One name that has emerged in the wake of Arsenal missing out on Mudryk is Moussa Diaby - a 23-year-old winger from Bayer Leverkusen.

Sky Germany are reporting Diaby is an option being considered at the Emirates Stadium, as Arteta's side look to push forward with their title charge.
