Man United transfer news - Victor Lindelof

The reliable Fabrizio Romano recently revealed that United have turned down an approach from Atletico Madrid for Lindelof.

As for Maguire, it looks like the Red Devils may be prepared to sell him at the end of the season.

Back in November, The Guardian claimed that Erik ten Hag plans to let him go in the summer as part of his rebuild at Old Trafford.

Combined, Lindelof and Maguire cost United around £110m. As per Sky Sports, they paid about £30m for the former and £80m for the latter.

What has Dean Jones said about Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire and Man United?

Jones does not see Lindelof leaving United this month but expects either him or Maguire to depart after the current campaign concludes.

Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: "I don't think we're really going to see anything on Lindelof right now, but it's one of those big moments for United to face at the end of the season. I'd say it's almost certain that him or Maguire will go."

Will Man United get their money back for Lindelof or Maguire?

It seems unlikely. Lindelof's contract expires next year and he is not playing regularly at Old Trafford right now.

As per Transfermarkt, his start in United's 3-0 win against Bournemouth at the beginning of the month was only his fourth in the Premier League this season. If the Manchester club sell him for £30m, they would have done extremely well.

In regards to Maguire, they are definitely not going to sell him for £80m. Like Lindelof, he has also been on the periphery.

The England international has not even played 10 top-flight games this term yet and has been out of form for a while.

"He has just had an awful time at United these last 12 months," Red Devils legend Gary Neville told Sky Sports during the World Cup.

"United is a very unforgiving place; I know that from being there for 20 years. If you just do not get it right, that place can just eat you alive - Harry is just getting that at this moment in time."
