Chelsea have had Dusan Vlahovic on their radar since Graham Potter's arrival at Stamford Bridge, CBS reporter Ben Jacobs has told GiveMeSport.

The 22-year-old only joined Juventus last January, but Jacobs says it is not unthinkable that he leaves the Allianz Stadium in 2023.

Chelsea transfer news - Dusan Vlahovic

Last month, Jacobs informed GMS that Chelsea have already made enquiries about signing Vlahovic.

The Blues brought another elite striker in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the club in the last transfer window, but things have not quite worked out for him at Stamford Bridge.

As per Transfermarkt, the former Gabon international scored just one goal in his first 10 Premier League games for Chelsea, which came all the way back in October.

Potter could now do with the arrival of a new centre-forward, and it appears that Vlahovic could be an option for the ex-Brighton manager.

What has Ben Jacobs said about Dusan Vlahovic and Chelsea?

Jacobs says Vlahovic to Chelsea is now one to watch.

Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: "Vlahovic, as I reported six weeks or so ago, has been a Chelsea target since Graham Potter's come in, and it's not unthinkable that Vlahovic goes in 2023. But I've always said summer is more likely than January.

"So it's one to watch for sure because the player has an okay goalscoring record but isn't that happy under Max Allegri and at Juventus, not to the same tune as he was enjoying life at Fiorentina, and that opens the door."

Why have Chelsea made Dusan Vlahovic a target?

As mentioned earlier, their Aubameyang experiment has not been a success. They need a new No.9 and Vlahovic has been one of the best in Europe for a couple of seasons now.

In his final season at Fiorentina, he scored 17 goals in 21 Serie A appearances, as shown on Transfermarkt. The campaign prior, he managed 21 in 37.

Vlahovic has also impressed at Juventus since arriving from the Viola in a deal worth an initial £58.3m, according to Sky Sports.

Last term, the Serbia international scored seven times in 15 league outings, helping the Old Lady to clinch a Champions League spot.

It is not hard, then, to see why Chelsea are looking at Vlahovic, who has been described as "truly remarkable" by football writer Mina Rzouki.

To put things simply, the former Fiorentina man would give the Blues' attack another huge boost after the arrivals of Mykhailo Mudryk and Joao Felix.
