Arsenal have been 'offered' Leandro Trossard and the Brighton & Hove Albion star's representatives are 'speaking to many clubs' ahead of a potential move to the Emirates Stadium, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has told GiveMeSport.

The Gunners are flying high at the top of the Premier League, but boss Mikel Arteta could bolster his side's chances of clinching the title by strengthening his squad ahead of the transfer deadline.

Arsenal transfer news - Leandro Trossard

According to the Evening Standard, Arsenal have been offered the opportunity to sign Trossard as Arteta and sporting director Edu scour the market for Mykhailo Mudryk alternatives.

The report suggests agents and clubs are aware of the Gunners remaining active in the market, thanks to Chelsea hijacking their move for Mudryk by striking a deal worth £88.5million, and they are now expected to be offered several players ahead of the deadline.

Brighton are unlikely to accept less than £25million for Trossard, who has also attracted interest from Chelsea, despite him entering the final six months of his £60,000-per-week contract.

Arsenal's north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur have already tried their luck by making a £12million verbal offer, but their proposal was snubbed.

Josy Comhair, Trossard’s agent, has revealed his client is no longer on speaking terms with Brighton head coach Roberto De Zerbi after being left 'humiliated' and, consequently, he wants to seal a winter exit from the Amex Stadium.

What has Fabrizio Romano said about Trossard?

Romano understands Arsenal have been offered Trossard following the Belgium international's falling-out with De Zerbi.

But the respected journalist is aware that the winger's representatives are holding discussions with numerous clubs as he seeks a way out of Brighton.

Romano told GiveMeSport: "From what I'm told, he's been offered to Arsenal in the last few days after the situation with Roberto De Zerbi at Brighton.

"Of course, his agents are speaking to many clubs and so this is why there are some opportunities."

Would Trossard be a good signing for Arsenal?

There is no doubt that Trossard is a serious threat in the final third of the pitch as he has scored 101 goals and chalked up a further 43 assists over the course of his senior club career, according to Transfermarkt.

With those numbers, the 28-year-old is capable of improving any side and he would provide Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli with stiff competition for a regular spot on either flank.

Former England international Rio Ferdinand has previously described Trossard as ‘unreal’ and he has been a constant menace for defenders this season.

The Belgian has found the back of the net seven times since the campaign got underway and also grabbed a memorable hat-trick as Brighton sealed a 3-3 draw with Liverpool at Anfield.

Only three of Trossard's current teammates have gained a better WhoScored average match rating this season, so Arsenal should look to reach an agreement for the Seagulls' wantaway talisman.
