WWE 2K23 is set to drop later on this year, and it seems like John Cena will be the game's cover star.

Following the success of 2022 edition of the game, WWE and 2K are dropping yet another video game this year, which is set to drop in Spring.

And now, with leaks coming out about the various playable characters and new modes in the game, we also seemingly know who is going to feature on the cover.

Who is the WWE 2K23 cover star?

Rey Mysterio was the cover star for 2K22, and it seems like the man that beat him for the WWE Championship in 2011 is going to feature on the cover of 2K23.

Below is the supposed leak for the cover for this year's game, which as you can see, features 16-time World Champion John Cena.

2K has not officially confirmed that Cena will be on the cover, but last year's leak indicated that Rey Mysterio was the cover star, which ended up being true.

With Rey on the cover of last year's game, the wrestling legend was also the focus of the game's Showcase mode, which looked back at some of his iconic matches and moments.

At this stage, it's unclear whether Cena's spot on the cover will also see a Showcase mode focused around him, but it definitely seems like that would be the case.

With Cena arguably one of WWE's best-ever wrestlers, and now a mainstream star, it makes sense for 2K to want to put him on the cover of their latest video game.

However, as noted, neither 2K nor WWE has officially confirmed that Cena will be on the cover, so stay tuned to GiveMeSport for any potential updates on the matter.

According to reports, John Cena is almost definitely going to be at WrestleMania 39, WWE's biggest pay-per-view event of the year, which takes place on the first weekend of April.

Cena, if reports are to be believed, will be facing either Logan Paul or Austin Theory at the show, both of which he's expected to lose if they do come to fruition.

At the time of writing, there's no word on when Cena could be back on TV, but WWE could use his return as a way to help promote the 2K23 video game, if he is on the cover of course.
