West Ham United target Terem Moffi is not 'too keen' on a move to the London Stadium this month and would prefer a transfer to Ligue 1 side Nice, Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor has told GIVEMESPORT.

The Hammers have already completed two deals this month, with Danny Ings and Luizao joining from Aston Villa and Sao Paulo respectively.

West Ham transfer news - Terem Moffi?

Lately, Football London reported that West Ham submitted a bid for Lorient striker Moffi earlier in the window, which was believed to be worth around £25 million. Initially, the French side would receive £20 million of the payment upfront, with the other £5 million being paid off in instalments.

The Hammers remain 'hopeful' of landing the 23-year-old; however, have already brought in Ings from Aston Villa to bolster their forward line in a deal that cost around £12 million.

In light of this, manager David Moyes stated in a recent interview that it is doubtful that he will enter the market for another forward this month. Heaping praise on the board for the Ings deal, the Scot then added: "I don’t think we will be going back to the well [for another striker], to be honest.” However, the striker has since been ruled out for weeks after injuring his knee on his debut.

Nice have also been heavily linked with Moffi this window, who only Kylian Mbappe has bagged more goals than in the French top flight this campaign.

What has Ryan Taylor said about Terem Moffi?

Daily Express journalist Taylor has stated that Moffi is not overly keen on a move to the London Stadium despite West Ham's interest in his services this window.

Taylor told GMS: "From what I'm told on Moffi, he's not actually too keen on joining West Ham. He's quite happy at Lorient and if he was to move, he'd be open to joining Nice more so than West Ham - although he is interested in a Premier League move."

Do West Ham need another centre-forward this month?

In light of recently bringing in Ings from Aston Villa, surely the only feasible way that West Ham could acquire another centre-forward is if one of Michail Antonio or Gianluca Scamacca was to depart this window.

Scamacca was signed in the summer from Sassuolo for £35.5 million and is likely to be a part of the long-term vision at the London Stadium. On the other hand, there has been some murmurings that Antonio could leave in January, with Wolves being one party mooted to be monitoring his situation.

For now, at least, Ings looks like he will be the main story transfer for West Ham in January, which is not a bad thing considering his goalscoring proficiency. In the Premier League across his entire career, the 30-year-old has netted 68 times and recorded 19 assists from 189 appearances and is proven at that level.

It is easy to forget that Ings' is still Villa's top marksman in the English top flight in 2022/23, with six goals from 18 outings, which is an average of the England international hitting the net every 136 minutes, as per Transfermarkt.

In a time of need for the Hammers in front of goal, Ings looks to be their weapon of choice to try and elevate them away from a relegation scrap.
