Everton contract news - Anthony Gordon and Jordan Pickford

Last month, The Telegraph reported that Gordon was close to putting pen to paper on a fresh long-term contract. Since then, however, not much has happened.

As for Pickford, there has been nothing lately to suggest that he is going to sign a new deal either.

The England goalkeeper will be a free agent next year, so Everton really need to get something sorted soon.

There is a lot of uncertainty surrounding the Merseyside club, who have just sacked Frank Lampard as manager.

What has Ryan Taylor said about Anthony Gordon, Jordan Pickford and Everton?

Taylor believes Everton may have to listen to proposals for Gordon and Pickford because of their contract situations.

Speaking to GMS, the Daily Express journalist said: "From what we understand, he [Gordon] agreed a new deal, but he hasn't signed it yet. Same with Pickford, which does maybe point towards the fact that Everton are maybe going to have to consider offers for both players."

Who could Anthony Gordon and Jordan Pickford join if they do decide to leave Everton?

Gordon and Pickford, who are valued at around £66m combined by Transfermarkt, do not look to be short of suitors.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea are interested in Gordon after chasing the winger last summer. The same outlet states that Newcastle United are also keen on him and are confident they can win the race for his signature.

The Blues are thought to have Pickford on their radar, too. Back in November, The Sun claimed that they would scout the shot-stopper during the World Cup.

They are not the only team in London who are said to be interested in Pickford, though. Also per The Telegraph, Tottenham have identified the 28-year-old as a potential successor to Hugo Lloris.

It is clear to see, then, that should Gordon and Pickford push for new challenges, they will have options available to them.

At this moment in time, though, the last thing Everton need is two of their best players leaving. Owner Farhad Moshiri and chairman Bill Kenwright will thus be hoping that the English duo eventually put pen to paper on new deals at Goodison Park. If not, then you would imagine that supporters will have even more reason to feel disgruntled.
