Manchester United will only let 'frustrated' youngster Facundo Pellestri exit Old Trafford this month on a loan basis if it's the right move for both parties, transfer insider Dean Jones has informed GIVEMESPORT.

The 21-year-old has barely featured for the Red Devils and could be on the move in January, with Erik Ten Hag continuing to run the rule over his squad.

Man Utd Transfer News - Facundo Pellistri

In the last few days, South American publication O Jogo claimed that Brazilian side Flamengo were 'advanced in talks' to take Pellestri on loan for the remainder of the year.

Their manager Vitor Pereira was keen on boosting his options in the final third and was mooted to be willing to pay Pellestri's wages in full for the entire duration of the loan deal.

Since then, events have taken an unexpected turn. Taking to Twitter, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has said that Flamengo is 'no longer a loan option' for the Uruguay international this window.

The Italian journalist went on to add that Valencia are now 'pushing' to complete a deal to acquire Pellestri on loan. At the same time, two unnamed clubs from Serie A could also be 'possibilities' regarding his next destination, with a final decision from Manchester United expected this week.

What has Dean Jones said about Facundo Pellestri?

Transfer insider Jones has stated that Manchester United will only let Pellestri depart if the move suits the club and his development as a player.

Jones told GMS: "United only want this to happen if they're convinced it's right, for him and them.

"Otherwise, they're quite happy for him to stay. I just feel that he'll get frustrated if that's the case and he's not getting any football."

Should Manchester United loan out Facundo Pellestri this month?

Looking like he is unlikely to gain many senior minutes any time soon; it may be wise to loan Pellestri out to get some regular game time under his belt.

Earning a reported £27,000 per week at Old Trafford, Pellestri has made just one appearance for Manchester United in his time at the club, claiming an assist in a 3-0 victory over Charlton Athletic in the EFL Cup quarter-final.

There is an element of misfortune that needs to be considered when reviewing the situation of Pellestri, as he is unlikely to displace the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho in the starting lineup between now and the end of 2022/23.

Farming the 21-year-old out on loan looks like the most sensible option available to Manchester United at the moment, with a view to reassessing his capabilities upon his return to pre-season training.
