Newcastle triumphed 1-0 away at Southampton on Tuesday night in the first leg of the EFL Cup semi-final.

It was a huge game for both clubs as we approach the business end of the competition, with neither having tasted major silverware since the Saints lifted the FA Cup in 1976.

In the case of Newcastle, you would need to go all the way back to 1955 - incredible for such an enormous club!

Nevertheless, the Magpies are on the up under Eddie Howe and they'll fancy their chances of ending that unbearable trophy drought this campaign after Joelinton's 73rd minute strike gave them the edge in their semi-final tie.

Should they maintain their lead in the second-leg and qualify for the final, they'll face either Nottingham Forest or Manchester United.

Big clubs, especially the Red Devils, but the Toon currently occupy third spot in the Premier League and are frightened by nobody.

Jacob Murphy certainly isn't anyway, as he showed in his side's victory over Southampton.

Gaining traction on social media, footage shows Murphy ridiculing Saints centre-back Duje Ćaleta-Car after the Croatian was sent off for receiving two yellow cards.

Caleta-Car became embroiled with several Newcastle players once he'd received his marching orders, including Murphy, with the duo shoving each other before being separated.

But after the culprit made his way to the byline, Murphy simply stood in his way while gleefully waving at him and smiling.

Who knew that Murphy was one of the Premier League's biggest sh**houses? He can go straight in the club with Diego Costa and Aaron Ramsdale after his semi-final antics.

Although he'll probably be pretty glad he doesn't have to come up against Caleta-Car when the clubs clash again next Tuesday because, well, just look at him, he is furious.
