Everton should be considering Sean Dyche as Frank Lampard's replacement as he would "immediately lift" Goodison Park, Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor has told GIVEMESPORT.

Dyche has been out of work since being let go by Burnley in April and Taylor believes he'd be perfect for the Everton job.

Everton manager news - Sean Dyche

Less than 12 months after being appointed, Lampard was sacked from his second Premier League job in two years, having been shown the door by Bill Kenwright and Farhad Moshiri.

Lampard leaves Everton in the midst of one of their worst-ever crises, with the club staring down the barrel of a first relegation to the second tier since the early 1950s.

With the Championship beckoning for Everton, the Merseyside outfit are desperate to appoint a manager capable of keeping them in the top flight.

There are suggestions from some that man might be Dyche, with ex-Everton forward Kevin Campbell saying the former Burnley chief would be a sensible hire.

On Dyche, Campbell told BBC Sport that Dyche's style of football would "suit Everton and the fans", but it appears Kenwright and Moshiri are keen to look elsewhere.

In the wake of Lampard's sacking, The Athletic reported Everton were preparing to hold talks with ex-Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa.

Elsewhere, it's also been reported Everton have made informal contact with Wayne Rooney about taking over, with the current DC United boss having supposedly shared reservations over accepting their offer.

What has Ryan Taylor said about Dyche to Everton?

Daily Express journalist Taylor says he is shocked that the former Burnley boss isn't supposedly higher up the wanted list.

On the 51-year-old manager, Taylor said: "I’m surprised Sean Dyche isn’t reportedly under consideration for Everton.

"I think he would immediately lift the place. Yes, it’s not pretty at times, but people turning their noses up at Sean Dyche are a disgrace really.

"He took Burnley from the Championship to the Europa League on the lowest budget in the division. I think that is just phenomenal really and it gets overlooked as an achievement.

"Dyche doesn’t have the greatest reputation, but if you want a team that is giving 100%, he’s the man to call.”

What would Dyche offer Everton?

Above everything else, resilience. While criticised at times for his rigid playing style, Dyche's Burnley teams were notoriously difficult to break down.

Before dropping into the Championship last season, the 51-year-old had kept Burnley in the Premier League for five consecutive seasons - their longest run in the top flight since the 1960s.

Dyche, who has managed over 470 senior matches, averages well over 1.3 points per game, indicating he is capable of delivering results (Transfermarkt).

Should Everton wish to extend their Premier League stay beyond this season, perhaps Dyche would be the sensible option for the Toffees.
