Jamie Carragher and football agent Kia Joorabchian don't exactly see eye to eye.The pair have exchanged fiery comments in the past with Joorabchian - whose clientele includes the likes of Willian, Philippe Coutinho and Douglas Luiz - never afraid to express his opinions in a, well, passionate manner. Now, the latest chapter in their long-running feud has come off the back of Carragher's view on the precarious situation that Everton - who recently sacked Frank Lampard as they face yet another relegation fight - find themselves in.

What did Jamie Carragher say about Everton?

According to the Mirror, Carragher said on Sky Sports this week: "I said on this programme six to 12 months ago Everton are the worst run club in the country, and it wasn’t a flippant remark - I believed it.

"I’m not saying that as an ex-Liverpool player, I’m saying that as an ex-Everton fan. When I made that comment Everton got in touch with me and I actually admired it.

"Almost on the front foot trying to defend their club, and I thought okay, fair enough, you say some things in the media and people come back at you, but I didn’t think I was wrong then, and I’m not wrong when I say it now.

"You start with the owner, Farhad Moshiri, he doesn’t know what he’s doing but he’s got a lot of money. He’s put a lot of money in. He’s got a very unhealthy relationship with Kia Joorabchian, and that partnership has caused a lot of problems at Everton.

"Players coming in, managers getting changed left, right and centre. Why does every Everton manager fail? Why?"

What did Kia Joorabchian say about Carragher?

Carragher even said at the time that he'll be expecting a call from Joorabchian in light of his comments and alas, it hasn't taken long for the 51-year-old to deliver his rebuttal.

Making an appearance on talkSPORT on Wednesday, Joorabchian fired back by saying: "When Simon says something I quite respect it, because he’s an educated person, unlike someone like a Jamie Carragher who unfortunately lives in a glass house, spits out of car windows and has no education in terms of his background when he makes a comment, like Simon just did.

“That’s why I thought I’d go on and clarify this point. I’ve done three transfers of my players over the course of Farhad [Moshiri]’s tenure at Everton.

"Those three were Richarlison from Watford which was a very successful transfer, a free transfer of Bernard who came from Shakhtar Donetsk when his contract finished and he was a player who wasn’t a complete disaster and did very well, we had Carlo Ancelotti who was the only manager they’ve ever taken on a recommendation.

“We always do the same as we do with any club in the Premier League, every time someone needs a manager and we have a client, we always present our clients.

“Then we were involved in the Anwar El Ghazi loan which was part of the Lucas Digne transfer in an FFP scenario. Anwar came in this way and unfortunately that didn’t work out for them because there was a change of manager and when that change occurred, Anwar wasn’t in the new manager’s plans.”

Tell us how you really feel, Kia.

It was one thing for Joorabchian to launch a counterargument in order to defend his dealings with Everton, but it was another thing entirely to bring Carragher's infamous spitting episode from 2018 into things.

What did Carragher say about Joorabchian on Twitter?

So it should hardly come as a surprise that the Liverpool legend was keen to join the conversation once again, taking to Twitter to make his feelings about Joorabchian's comments incredibly clear.

In fact, it was quite the retort with Carragher snapping back: "Kia, there is no need to get personal, I’m just analysing your role in football clubs!

"Involved in helping Everton to the bottom of PL 🤷‍♂️ Involved at QPR, which ended with relegation 🤷‍♂️ Your signings at Arsenal took them to 8th, now they’ve gone, they’re top 🤷‍♂️."

Carragher hits out at Joorabchian on Twitter.

That feels like it needs a mic drop, doesn't it?

With over 1,000 retweets, two million views and 15,000 'likes' within its first few hours online, it's fair to say that Carragher's response has gone down a treat with football fans.

But regardless of who you think had the last laugh in that most bizarre of footballing debates, there's no denying just how surreal it is to watch Carragher and Joorabchian trading blows for the whole world to see.

It's not the first time that the unlikely pair have gone toe to toe and something tells us that it won't be the last.
