Manchester United have been "really impressed" with Benjamin Sesko, amid links to a summer move for the Slovenian striker, talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook revealed to GIVEMESPORT.

Sesko has caught the eye while playing for Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg and Crook hints United may be tempted into a move.

Manchester United transfer news - Benjamin Sesko

As per ESPN, United are keen to sign a long-term option at centre-forward in the summer, with Sesko one of three names on the Red Devils' shortlist.

Striker has been a problem area at United for some time now and Erik ten Hag is believed to be keen to rectify this next season.

Having signed stop-gap Wout Weghorst on loan from Burnley, attention at United is already turning to the summer transfer window, with Sesko emerging as a realistic candidate for the Stretford-based outfit.

Sesko has already agreed on a move to Salzburg's sister club RB Leipzig in the summer, in a deal worth £20 million, but sources close to ESPN insist he could be allowed to leave the Bundesliga side, should a suitable offer be made.

United had been reportedly looking at Sesko before he made the switch to Salzburg from Slovenian side Domzale in 2019, but those high up at the Premier League side believed he still needed time to develop.

Now, the 19-year-old has once again emerged as a potential option for United.

What has Alex Crook said about Sesko to United?

One of the continent's most talented prospects, it's no surprise Sesko has been attracting interest from top European clubs, with talkSPORT journalist Crook indicating that United like what they see in the striker.

Speaking on the teenager, Crook said: "Sesko is an interesting one because I know that they (Man United) have been really impressed with him whenever they’ve watched him.”

What would Sesko offer United?

In short, goals. Sesko has shown already from his time in professional football that he's a natural in front of goal.

Sesko has been dubbed the "next Haaland", primarily because the pair both burst onto the scene while at Salzburg, but also because of their similar playing style.

The Slovenian international, who has netted 50 goals during his career so far, is a demonstrative attacker, capable of tearing defences to shreds with his dribbling ability, devastating finishing and incisive passing.

According to FBref, Sesko averages over a goal or an assist every two matches, indicating he possesses a potent threat in attack.
