West Ham transfer news - Conor Gallagher

According to The Athletic, West Ham are one of several Premier League clubs who are keen on Gallagher.

However, unlike Everton, the east London outfit are yet to make a move for the Englishman.

On Monday afternoon, the reliable Fabrizio Romano revealed that Everton have made a bid worth £45m for Gallagher.

It is believed, though, that the Chelsea man is not interested in joining Sean Dyche's side.

What has Alex Crook said about Conor Gallagher and West Ham?

While West Ham's interest looks to be just that for now, Crook thinks it could materialise into something more serious later on in the day.

Speaking to GMS, the talkSPORT reporter said: "At the moment, it seems quite quiet on the West Ham front. Conor Gallagher is one they've had long-standing interest in, so if he was made available, they may well be part of the conversation for him."

What are Conor Gallagher's stats this season?

As per Transfermarkt, Gallagher has made 18 appearances in the Premier League, managing just the one goal.

The England international has shown in the past that he can do much more than that, though. During his loan spell at Crystal Palace last term, he registered eight times in 34 top-flight appearances, proving that he can be a threat from midfield.

While at the Eagles, Gallagher showed that he was not afraid to get dirty either. According to WhoScored, the Chelsea man averaged two tackles per game. Only defender Tyrick Mitchell (2.9) managed to make more.

Has Gallagher done enough to warrant a £45m transfer fee? That is debatable to say the least. However, you can see why West Ham and half of the Premier League are interested in him. And from his perspective, a move to David Moyes' team before tonight's deadline could make a lot of sense.

His game time at Stamford Bridge could be about to decrease, with Chelsea still trying to sign Enzo Fernandez from Benfica.

Given his price tag and the amount of interest in him, it is not going to be an easy deal for West Ham to do. But Gallagher is definitely a player worth pursuing today.
