Zak Brown believes that Lando Norris is as good as anyone on the F1 grid, including the likes of Fernando Alonso.

Norris has been in the sport for several years now but still remains one of the younger drivers in the field, and his talent and potential is huge.

He has shown that he is more than capable of getting the very best out of a car and many believe that, with the right equipment, he will be a multi-race winner and even a world champion at the top level.

Getting the right car, though, is easier said than done and it is something that McLaren are really working hard on at the moment with them all too aware of the star they currently have on their books in the shape of the British driver.

Indeed, Zak Brown has underlined that fact in a recent interview, with him saying that he believes Norris is equal to anyone on the current grid, including one of the greats in Fernando Alonso:

“I think he is as good as anyone on the grid and I’ve felt that from day one when I put him against Fernando in the 24 Hours of Daytona; foreign car, foreign track,” Brown told ESPN.

“I think Fernando is as good as any F1 driver there’s ever been and Lando matches him, and depending on what time of day it was, maybe he even got him a little bit, and vice versa.

“You see that natural talent. You do get some drivers who are a one-make discipline and you throw them in a unique situation and they don’t get up to speed as quickly.”

Norris is hugely talented and hopefully McLaren will make strides in the right direction this year, so we can at least see Norris fighting for podium positions more than he was in 2022.
