While Chelsea continue to chase the World Cup’s Young Player of the Tournament Enzo Fernandez, Fabrizio Romano confirmed Jorginho will be moving across London to Arsenal.

The midfielder has moved into the last six months of his contract at Stamford Bridge, and Mikel Arteta is keen to bolster his squad as Arsenal look to secure a first league title since 2004.

If Jorginho does make the move, he will not be the first to move between west and north London. Here are 11 other players who have also made that switch.

Who has played for Arsenal & Chelsea?

Emmanuel Petit

The Frenchman spent most of his career at Monaco but was a key part of Arsenal’s midfield as they won the league title in 1998. He left in 2000 for Barcelona, only to return to London and see out his career at Chelsea.

Nicolas Anelka

A wonderkid at Arsenal and an elite player at Chelsea. With a whole load of clubs in between.

Although he won the Premier League with both clubs, Anelka’s most successful stint came while wearing Chelsea blue. The Frenchman scored 59 goals over five seasons while at Stamford Bridge.

Ashley Cole

One of the greatest left-backs to ever step foot on a football pitch. While he is not fondly remembered by Arsenal fans for the way he departed the club, he is adored by Chelsea fans who watched him lift the Premier League and Champions League over eight years.

William Gallas

Gallas played for Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham, which did not help his reputation among all sets of fans.

Nevertheless, he was a regular starter at each of the clubs and even lifted the Premier League along the way.

Cesc Fabregas

When Fabregas made the switch to Stamford Bridge from Barcelona, having spent eight years at Arsenal, not one Arsenal fan would say they were not hurt by the move.

Fabregas is still widely regarded as one of the best midfielders to play the game, with trophies with both Arsenal and Chelsea helping to back up that claim.

Lassana Diara

Diara proved to be a fringe player at both clubs, making just 13 appearances for Chelsea and only seven for Arsenal. He went on to become a more regular squad player for Real Madrid between 2009 and 2012.

Yossi Benayoun

Benayoun joined Chelsea from Liverpool in 2010 but joined Arsenal on loan in 2011 to play more regularly. He played 19 league games for the Gunners and moved to West Ham the following season.

Petr Cech

Arguably one of the best goalkeepers ever, with the most clean sheets in Premier League history. But while he is a Chelsea legend, Cech failed to make the same kind of impact at Arsenal towards the end of his career.

Although he won most of his trophies in west London, Cech still helped Arsenal to an FA Cup in 2017 and won his fourth Golden Glove in north London. A record number that he currently shares with Joe Hart.

David Luiz

Luiz joined Chelsea in 2011 from Benfica, before leaving for PSG in 2014, only to then re-join Chelsea in 2016 and help them lift the Premier League with Antonio Conte.

He then moved to Arsenal in 2019, spending two seasons at the club where he helped them lift the FA Cup in 2020.

Olivier Giroud

Every few months a compilation of Giroud’s goals resurfaces with the caption, “when I show my kid this they’ll think he was the greatest ever.”

Giroud was a frustrating figure for Arsenal fans at times, but his scorpion kick goal against Palace remains one of the best in recent memory. He then made the switch to west London, where he scored vital goals like his overhead kick against Atletico Madrid in Chelsea’s Champions League run.

Willian

Willian spent seven years in west London, helping Chelsea lift the Premier League twice.

But he struggled upon moving to north London in 2020, much to the frustration of Arsenal fans, and had his contract terminated after just one season.

After a year with Corinthians, he is now back in London and playing an important role for Fulham.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Last, but by no means least, the latest to join the group as Aubameyang swiftly left Barcelona behind to return to England and play for Chelsea.

His reputation at Arsenal, similar to that of Ashley Cole, ruined after he chose to leave the Emirates and then come back shortly after to Chelsea, but a decision that seems to have paid off since for Mikel Arteta's side anyway.
