Tottenham Hotspur may look to sign somebody else after securing the signature of Sporting Lisbon’s Pedro Porro at Hotspur Way, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has suggested to GiveMeSport.

Antonio Conte is looking for reinforcements in a bid to secure a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.

GiveMeSport Transfer Update

Tottenham transfer news – January

On Monday evening, Romano exclusively revealed that Tottenham are resolving the issues in their initial deal with Sporting for Porro and that a deal for the right-back is expected to be completed before today’s transfer deadline.

The addition of the Spaniard would be Spurs’ second senior signing of the winter window, having secured the loan addition of Villarreal’s Arnaut Danjuma earlier last week.

The Lilywhites have been slow to act in the transfer market in January, with the future of head coach Conte looking increasingly uncertain, with the former Chelsea head coach having just six months left to run on his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Italian journalist has recently told GiveMeSport that Porro has been very clear in his desire to get a move to Tottenham over the line, suggesting that the 23-year-old will be delighted with developments over the past 24 hours.

But Romano is not convinced that Porro will be the last deal that Tottenham complete ahead of this evening’s transfer deadline.

What has Romano said about Tottenham?

Romano told GiveMeSport: “I'm not sure that Porro will be the last because I know how Fabio Paratici the Tottenham director works and is used to some opportunities at the end of the market. Something could happen in different positions. So, I would keep the Tottenham market open until the end.”

Who else could Tottenham sign today?

Links to potential incomings at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium have been relatively thin on the ground this month, but the Daily Express’ Ryan Taylor recently told GiveMeSport that Spurs have been in contact with the representatives of Bayer Leverkusen and Ecuador centre-back Piero Hincapie, though this could be in a bid to lay the groundwork ahead of a summer move.

According to journalist Sandro Sabatini (via Sport Witness) Fabio Paratici has been in contact with Roma attacking midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo, with the Italy international wanting away from the Stadio Olimpico this month.

And as Romano has stated, it remains to be seen whether Paratici will be in the market for any late deals at Hotspur Way, but it does look as if Spurs will be making at least one addition before the deadline, with Porro’s announcement now seeming to be just a matter of when not if.
