Leeds United's hopes of keeping Jack Harrison at the club beyond tonight's transfer deadline is still "one to watch", CBS reporter Ben Jacobs revealed to GMS.
Harrison is subject to interest from Premier League outfit Leicester City, but Jacobs insists Leeds are not willing to sell.
Leeds United transfer news - Jack Harrison
According to the MailOnline's transfer deadline day blog, Harrison is unlikely to leave Leeds today.
It comes after reports Leicester had lodged a £20 million bid for the attacking midfielder over the weekend, with Leeds intent on keeping Harrison at the club, according to The Athletic.
Harrison has already entered the final 18 months of his £50,000 per week contract, with the Whites deliberating over whether or not to cash in on the ex-Manchester City man.
The same Athletic report states Leeds are keen to keep Harrison at the club, with Jesse Marsch viewing him as a key part of his squad.
Talks of contract negotiations taking place after the January window have been mooted, but that would obviously depend on Harrison still being at the club, with suggestions Leicester might yet pursue a move for the 26-year-old before tonight's deadline.
What has Ben Jacobs said about Harrison's future at Leeds?
Speaking to GMS on transfer deadline day, CBS reporter Jacobs insisted the Harrison to Leicester deal could be one to keep an eye on right up until the 11pm cut-off point.
On the Leeds midfielder, Jacobs said: "We know that Leeds potentially want to strengthen in the attacking area, but actually they need to first defend advances from Leicester for Jack Harrison.
"That is the one to watch.
"Leicester are keen but Leeds have made it clear that the player is not for sale and it's not unthinkable that if that position changes, and it's a big if, Leeds will then look in the market for an attack-minded player.”
Who might Leeds replace Harrison with?
According to Calcio Mercato, Leeds are interested in Roma attacker Nicolo Zaniolo, with the wantaway star having been linked to a Premier League move.
Jacobs told GMS earlier today that Leeds believe they're the preferred option for Zaniolo, given his eagerness to leave the Italian capital.
Zaniolo, who was subject to interest from both Tottenham Hotspur and Bournemouth earlier in the window, is a versatile attacker capable of operating in most positions across the front three.
Since making his senior debut, Zaniolo has contributed to a healthy 82 goals, suggesting he's a useful option in the final third of the pitch.
