Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech is 'very keen' on signing for Paris St. Germain on deadline day, transfer insider Dean Jones has told GiveMeSport.

The Blues' business during the January window has pushed the Morocco international further down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea transfer news - Hakim Ziyech

Ziyech has been linked with a move away from west London throughout the month, in no small part due to Chelsea seriously bolstering their attacking options with deals for Joao Felix, Mkyhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke.

Recent absences have given the former Ajax man a first-team reprieve of late, having started three of Chelsea's Premier League fixtures throughout January.

But it's clear Ziyech won't be a priority once everybody is fit - in addition to the above names, he also has Raheem Sterling and Christian Pulisic to contend with for a spot in the starting XI.

Accordingly, a number of potential suitors have been mentioned of late, including Newcastle United, Everton and Aston Villa.

However, it emerged on deadline day that a more illustrious club had entered the race for Ziyech in the form of PSG.

BBC Sport reported that the French giants were in advanced talks to sign the 29-year-old. That was later confirmed by PSG boss Christophe Galtier.

What has Dean Jones said about Hakim Ziyech and PSG?

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jones has claimed that Ziyech is 'very keen' on completing a move to PSG where he'd be able to link up with Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.

He told GMS: "Hakim Ziyech to PSG has been a complicated negotiation that has not been fluid. In terms of the player himself, he’s ready and willing to sign. I'm told he’s been very keen on it, to be honest. After being linked with Milan, Everton, Newcastle and West Ham he has the chance to play with Mbappe and Messi - so obviously he wants it to happen."

Has Ziyech been a good signing for Chelsea?

Ziyech arrived at Stamford Bridge with plenty of promise after helping Ajax reach the semi-finals of the Champions League. But he's never really lived up to the hype in west London.

The 50-cap international has managed only 14 goals and 11 assists in 98 appearances for the Blues as per Transfermarkt, which works out at just one goal involvement every four games.

Chelsea should expect much greater output from their forwards and it's rather telling that the Premier League side have sought to upgrade their ranks following injuries to Sterling and Pulisic, rather than relying on Ziyech to help fill their void.

It remains to be seen how much PSG would pay for Ziyech but Transfermarkt value him at €20m (£17.6m).
