Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag still 'craves' Frenkie de Jong and wants to lure the Barcelona star to Old Trafford, transfer insider Dean Jones has told GiveMeSport.

According to the Manchester Evening News, ten Hag is open to a second pursuit of de Jong after failing to get a deal over the line last summer.
The report suggests Manchester United do not have the funds to complete any significant deals ahead of the transfer window's closure, but ten Hag has urged the club to pounce if an opportunity arises.
It emerged last month that de Jong privately gave his former Ajax boss assurances that he would be happy to join the Red Devils.
But that came a matter of months after Manchester United were frustrated in their attempts to land the central midfielder despite agreeing a fee worth close to £72million with Barcelona.
CBS reporter Ben Jacobs has told GiveMeSport that ten Hag could look to sign Leicester City's Youri Tielemans after Christian Eriksen sustained an injury during the FA Cup fourth round win over Reading.

Jones is aware that ten Hag is still desperate to seal a reunion with de Jong at Manchester United.
The respected journalist understands why links to the 25-year-old Netherlands international are cropping up again after Eriksen has been forced onto the sidelines.

According to Sky Sports, Manchester United are pushing to sign Marcel Sabitzer on loan from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich just hours before the transfer deadline.
The report suggests Chelsea are also keen on the Austrian, but the Red Devils have spotted an opportunity to sign a midfielder they looked at last summer.
Manchester United have already agreed personal terms with Sabitzer and he is currently on his way to England.
