West Bromwich Albion ‘are interested’ in snapping up Chelsea youngster Omari Hutchinson in the final hours of the January transfer window, journalist Simon Phillips has told GiveMeSport.

The 19-year-old was handed his first-team debut at Stamford Bridge earlier this season by manager Graham Potter but now looks set to secure a temporary move away from the Blues.

West Brom transfer news – Omari Hutchinson

Nizaar Kinsella of the Evening Standard has revealed that Hutchinson has loan offers on the table from both West Brom and Wigan Athletic.

The former England Under-19 international has registered six goals and nine assists in 18 appearances for Chelsea’s youth sides so far this season, catching the eye of the Championship duo.

However, Hutchinson was unable to make much of an impact off the bench for the senior team in his substitute outings against Manchester City in both the Premier League and FA Cup.

And with Chelsea bringing in the likes of Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Felix and Noni Madueke this winter, the teenager was likely to see his game time reduced even further.

West Brom, on the other hand, have been in fabulous form of late and could provide Hutchinson with the perfect platform to improve from.

What has Phillips said about Hutchinson?

Phillips has told GMS that Watford are also among Hutchinson’s potential suitors as the interest in his services begins to gather pace ahead of tonight’s deadline.

He said: “So, there's a late push from clubs to take Omari Hutchinson on loan from Chelsea in the final hours. They’re taking an interest now.

“Two strong clubs that are interested are West Brom and Watford. Both are keen to sort out a loan deal before the end of the window, so that's another one that could develop in these final hours. Other clubs also interested.”

Who have West Brom got next?

West Brom are currently sitting just a point outside of the play-off position in the Championship table after the appointment of Carlos Corberán dramatically transformed their fortunes.

The Spanish tactician has won nine of his 12 league games in charge of the Baggies, catapulting them up the second-tier standings.

Coventry City visit the Hawthorns next time out before West Brom travel to local rivals Birmingham City.

Games against Blackburn Rovers, Watford and Middlesbrough complete a busy February fixture schedule, and the addition of Hutchinson would surely be warmly welcomed.
