Last night, the world of music took centre stage at the 2023 Grammy Awards.Musicians and celebrities from across the world made the trip to the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles for the event with Trevor Noah hosting for the third time.This year’s Grammys celebration also marked 50 years of the hip-hop genre with many icons making an appearance in some way or another.Perhaps one person we didn’t expect to see on the night, however, was Dwayne Johnson.Now don’t get me wrong, if Moana is anything to go by, The Rock can sing, but you wouldn’t necessarily expect him at the Grammys. That said, he wasn’t at the event to perform, and instead, his appearance marked a surprise meeting for Adele, who is apparently a huge fan of the former wrestler turned actor.

The meeting was a nice moment on a night of celebration as the pair looked genuinely happy to meet for the first time in what was seemingly a surprise organised by Trevor Noah.

Midway through the show, Noah was stood next to Adele’s table when he began talking about Adele and The Rock.

“The person that Adele has always wanted to meet but never have is Dwayne Johnson,” begins Noah.

Adele nods along and mouths the name Dwayne Johnson as Noah begins.

“You’ve never met him?”

Adele shakes her head.

“Yeah, and then I found out, he’s a huge fan of yours too!”

Adele looked genuinely shocked and excited.

“Now, no, I don’t have Dwayne Johnson here tonight but urm, I do have someone called, The Rock.”

At this moment, The Rock entered the picture for the first time to loud cheers from the crowd.

“Adele, meet The Rock, The Rock, meet Adele. First time ever! Alright, you two get acquainted,” Noah finished before returning to the main events of the show.

Adele and The Rock then shared a nice embrace before talking and laughing with one another. Certainly the surprise appearance went down well with the pair who immediately seemed to hit it off.

Who won at the Grammys?

In terms of the awards themselves, despite not winning best album again, now marking four occasions, the night was a massive one for Beyonce, who picked up four awards. This brings her total to 32 Grammys, making her the new record holder for the awards. Alongside Maverick City Music, four was the most awards won on the night.

Other major wins of the evening included Harry Styles winning Album of the Year, despite Beyonce being the favourite, for his album ‘Harry’s House’.

Kim Petras also made history as she became the first transgender artist to win a Grammy as she won in the best pop duo/group performance category.

Although wrestling fans are desperately hoping for an appearance from The Rock at one of the major events in the coming weeks, despite the fact he ruled himself out of WrestleMania, for now, it doesn’t seem likely. His appearance at the Grammys, however, was an enjoyable moment in a night of celebration as Adele finally got to meet one of her heroes.
