Valtteri Bottas has revealed details of his first conversation with Andreas Seidl since his arrival as CEO of Sauber Motorsport.

Seidl left McLaren towards the end of last year with it being revealed soon after that he would be heading to Sauber.

Indeed, this move is to coincide with Audi's partnership with Sauber, with the German marque purchasing 25% of the company earlier this year and looking to increase that to 75% in the next few years, as they look forward to entering Formula 1 from 2026.

Exciting times, then, and in Seidl, Sauber have one of the most respected motorsport minds in the business, with him helping oversee an improvement at McLaren in recent years both on and off the track.

He'll be looking to achieve great success in the coming years with Sauber and Audi, then, and Bottas, one of the drivers for Alfa Romeo Sauber heading into the 2023 season, will naturally be eager to get working with him as he plots a return to running at the front himself following his time with Mercedes.

Speaking via Motorsport.com, the Finn revealed some details around the first conversation he had with Seidl a couple of weeks ago:

"It was two weeks ago I met him for the first time.

"First of all, a nice guy, but I can see that he's really motivated. He seems to have a pretty clear direction, what to do with the team and how to motivate people. He seems to have the vision.

"Obviously he's still just taking in a lot of information and trying to learn from other people about the team, what's been happening in the past. I'm confident he is a good man for the role."
