During his playing career, Gareth Bale was not afraid to let people know just how much he enjoyed his golf. That has continued even though Bale has now retired, with the Welshman taking part in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am in California this week as part of the PGA Tour. The clips that have gone around showing off Bale's golfing skills prove that it was definitely more than just a hobby for him.

Is Gareth Bale now a professional golfer?

Gareth announced his retirement from football in January at the age of just 33, with many speculating that the ex-Real Madrid star would hang up his boots after the World Cup last year.

Bale has not hidden the fact that golf is a big passion for him, and clearly missing the competitiveness of football, the winger has now tried his hand at a golfing tournament.

In fact, some of the clips of Gareth on the course in California, which are doing the rounds on social media, show just how good of a golfer he actually is.

Bale also took part in another Pro-Am last week, just before the Farmers Insurance Open commenced at Torrey Pines in San Diego.

Bale did so well that Spanish golfer Jon Rahm, following the retired footballer's performance, said it simply isn't fair that he's incredibly talented at both golf and football.

It remains to be seen whether or not Bale is going to give professional golf a proper go, or if he's just enjoying taking part in a few tournaments for fun now that he's now playing football.
