Tottenham Hotspur are 'very interested' in Jordan Pickford and could make a move for the Everton star in the summer, CBS reporter Ben Jacobs has told GiveMeSport.

Having completed the deadline day loan signing of Pedro Porro, which includes an obligation to make the switch permanent for £40million, Spurs boss Antonio Conte has already set his sights on where he could potentially strengthen his squad in the summer.

Tottenham transfer news - Jordan Pickford

According to Football Insider, Pickford has been identified as one of Tottenham's top targets and they will continue to keep tabs on his situation for the remainder of the season.

The report suggests the north Londoners will be in the market for a new first-choice goalkeeper in the summer and the England international, who has been on Everton's books since completing a £30million move from Sunderland in 2017, is looking to leave Goodison Park.

Chelsea and Manchester United have also been alerted to Pickford's potential availability as Everton have failed to sign off on the new five-year contract he agreed before the World Cup.

It means there is uncertainty over the shot-stopper's long-term future as his current deal, which is worth £110,000-per-week, has less than 18 months to run.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano recently told GiveMeSport that Pickford is 'appreciated' by Tottenham as they explore options.

What has Ben Jacobs said about Pickford?

Jacobs believes Pickford will be in-demand at the end of the campaign and his number of suitors will increase if Everton are relegated from the Premier League.

The respected journalist understands Tottenham managing director Fabio Paratici is keen to win the race for the 28-year-old, but the capital club could face competition from rivals Chelsea.

Jacobs told GiveMeSport: "He is likely to be a highly sought-after name, especially if Everton were to go down.

"Tottenham are very interested, but Chelsea could be there as well."

Would Pickford be a good signing for Tottenham?

It could be argued that Pickford would be an upgrade on current Tottenham first-choice goalkeeper Lloris as, according to FBref, he has averaged more saves per 90 minutes this season.

The Everton custodian boasts plenty of Premier League experience, having made 231 appearances in the competition, and that will be an attraction for Spurs as they look for a fresh option between the sticks.

Only two Toffees teammates have been handed a better average match rating by WhoScored this season, which highlights that Pickford has continued to put in impressive performances despite his current employers' struggles.

Former Everton midfielder Leon Osman described the Washington-born man as 'outstanding' after he shone during the Merseyside derby against Liverpool earlier this term, further emphasising his pedigree.

Pickford kept three clean sheets as England reached the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup and he would be an astute long-term replacement for Lloris.
