Jake Paul is set to make his MMA debut either at the end of 2023 or at the start of 2024 after signing a long-term contract with the PFL.

The YouTuber-turned-prizefighter, 25, is currently getting ready for his boxing match against Tommy Fury on February 26 in Saudi Arabia.

Earlier this year, it was announced that he has inked a multiyear deal with the UFC's rival MMA promotion PFL.

Paul has assumed the role as 'Head of Fighter Advocacy' under the terms of the agreement which will see him use his social media channels to promote its events as well as owning shares in the company.

And PFL's SR VP James Frewin, who is currently overseeing the launch of PFL Europe, has confirmed that he will compete in mixed martial arts in the future.

Will Jake Paul fight in MMA?

"It's in his contract - Jake is going to fight in the PFL Smart Cage," Frewin told GiveMeSport.com.

"When, TBC, but he will fight in the PFL. Either at the end of 2023 or some time in 2024. I think where and when is TBC but the international expansion is a big part of our strategy at the PFL.

"You know, we've got a great brand in the US. We've launched PFL Europe, we announced those dates earlier, we're going to be in the UK, France, Germany and Ireland in December, so all options are on the table. We could see Jake competing in the UK or somewhere outside the US, yeah."

Asked if there has been any progress in signing Nate Diaz, he added: "I can't comment on where we are in terms of signing pay-per-view stars at this point but there have been conversations.

"I know Jake has made an offer I think in boxing and in MMA so as fans let's see what happens.

"It would be great to have Nate fight in the PFL Smart Cage."

As for why he signed a deal with the PFL, his answer was rather simple.

"Well, look, I think he can see what we're building," Frewin continued.

"We've got a serious global expansion plan, professional is in our name, and we're creating a true sports format. So from Jake's perspective he looks at it and goes who am I going to work with in the MMA space? The obvious choice is the PFL.

"The way we treat fighters, fighter pay is a controversial topic but everyone who fights in the PFL will say it's a great place to be, we take care of our people.

"So for Jake, I think it's the perfect home, and as we launch our pay-per-view super fight division, who better to come onboard and not just be a voice for the PFL but get more people into MMA as well."
