Kyrie Irving ended the previous NBA campaign on top of the world as he sunk the vital shot that gave the Cleveland Cavaliers their first championship in franchise history.

His three over the outstretched arm of Stephen Curry is a shot that will go down in the annals of NBA history and has led to a relaxed environment around the organisation after they reported back to training camp.

The feeling of champions is a new sensation for the majority of the Cavs' roster and it is one they must cherish throughout the campaign.

As preparations begin for the new season, Irving has been enjoying himself after a summer that also included winning an Olympic gold medal with Team USA.

The point guard appears to be locked in after a long road to recovery from injury and showed his accuracy with a video on the team's official Twitter account.

He picked up the ball on the wing and unleashed a three, walking away without even waiting for the result, knowing full well that it was going to fall through the net.

If the Cavs are to defend their title, then Irving will be a huge part of that. He confirmed his position as a clutch player in this league in the finals and will need to continue his improvement this year.
