Marcus Rashford further enhanced his reputation as one of football’s good guys this week by taking part in a Q&A session while playing FIFA 17 with the popular YouTuber Spencer Matthews.
The Manchester United striker, who has enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame over the past seven months, came across as grounded and level-headed - just as he has in every interview he’s conducted since bursting onto the scene back in February.
As well as revealing that Hector Bellerin is the fastest defender he’s faced during his short career so far, and that Paul Pogba has more variety than Jesse Lingard when it comes to ‘dabbing’, Rashford also revealed his favourite United line-up from the current squad.
Prior to kick-off - Rashford opted for United, up against Spencer’s City - the 18-year-old had to play the role of Jose Mourinho by selecting his preferred starting line-up.
Although he might be modest, he did pick himself starting upfront - but which other players did he select for his virtual starting line-up?
De Gea in goal - obviously...
There was no surprise with the goalkeeper: David de Gea would get into every single United fans’ XI over Sergio Romero.
Rashford then went for a back four comprised of Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly and Antonio Valencia.
Rooney in midfield?
In midfield, he went for Paul Pogba and, interestingly, Wayne Rooney in central midfield alongside the £89 million man.
On the left wing, he selected Anthony Martial, while the lesser-spotted Henrikh Mkhitaryan got the nod on the opposite flank.
Zlatan behind Rashford
Rashford picked himself in the centre-forward position, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the No. 10 position.
Rashford's United XI
The likes of Marouane Fellaini, Juan Mata, Ander Herrera and his mate Lingard were all forced to settle for a place on the substitutes’ bench.
Rashford lost 2-0
However, it was Spencer who was celebrating at full-time after a comfortable 2-0 victory over Rashford’s men.
Luckily he’s much better at real football than he is at FIFA.
