Manchester City and Tottenham: The perfect eight-man fantasy football line-up

Football News

There is no two ways about it, Manchester City are on fire right now.

Pep Guardiola's men have won 10 games straight in all competitions to begin the season, including a perfect six from six in the Premier League.

However, while the Citizens look in irresistible form, Tottenham Hotspur are also ticking along nicely and are themselves unbeaten in the league en route to second place.

As such, this weekend's clash between the top two promises to be a barnstormer. But, with some of the league's most in-form players on display, what would a team made up of players from both sides of the divide look like?

Using DraftKings' eight-player standard line-up here's our ultimate team combining the best City and Spurs have to offer.

GK - Hugo Lloris

Lloris has become one of the best 'keepers in Europe over recent seasons and consistently produces world class saves to complement his ability to act as a sweeper behind Spurs' back four.

With five points for a team win and another five for a clean sheet on DraftKings, he is a must pick.

DEF - Kyle Walker

Walker is the perfect example of the modern full-back. The right-back is a constant attacking threat down the flank, whilst Walker’s speed allows him to get back from further up the field when his defensive duties are required.

Each cross attempt scores 0.75 points on DraftKings, and there are few better full-backs in the Premier League at getting into a position to deliver a telling ball than Walker.

DEF - Bacary Sagna

Sagna has enjoyed a new lease of life under Pep Guardiola and now seems entrenched as their starting right-back.

Although crosses aren't what Pep demands of his defenders, Sagna has been given more responsibility to pick up the ball in midfield and look for openings - meaning you can never rule out six points for an assist from the Frenchman.

MID - Kevin De Bruyne

Oh how Chelsea fans must rue Jose Mourinho's decision to sell De Bruyne in 2013. The Belgian midfielder is one of the most creative players in the league and, on his day, is impossible to defend against.

What's more, he is very capable of finding the target from long range. DraftKings reward a shot at goal with one point, as well as another point when the shot is on target.

MID - Raheem Sterling

Another player thriving under Guardiola, Sterling has shown this season just why City paid so much for his signature a couple of summers ago.

With four goals and two assists in the opening six games in the Premier League, the pacey winger is a fantasy player's dream and an opposition team's nightmare.

FOR - Sergio Aguero

Simply put, there are no better strikers in the Premier League right now than the diminutive Argentinian.

He gives defenders no time to settle and, give him half a chance, Aguero will more than likely take it. With 10 points for a goal, he is almost guaranteed double-digit performances on DraftKings with City in such fine form.

FOR - Harry Kane

Unfortunately, Kane is currently unavailable for Spurs due to an ankle injury. Nevertheless, the England striker is one Tottenham player who would get in almost every Premier League side's starting XI.

Kane had two goals before getting injured and has continued to prove he is the most formidable English forward of his generation. His hold up play also allows teammates to get in on the act.

UTIL - David Silva

Silva is the modern game's ideal number 10. Skilful, creative and intelligent on the ball, the Spaniard finds the killer ball when others don't even see a pass is available.

He is made for Guardiola's system and is the perfect foil for Aguero and co. Often on set piece duty, too, Silva is never too far away from a goal, assist, or crossing bonus on DraftKings.
