It was Paul Pogba vs. Joe Allen at Old Trafford this afternoon.

The world’s most expensive player vs. the Welsh Pirlo.

Surely there was only one winner?

Yep, there was and it wasn’t the Frenchman.

Allen produced a sensational performance against the former Juventus star and scored the equalising goal for Stoke as they achieved an impressive 1-1 draw against the Red Devils.

If you don’t believe us when we tell you that Allen got the better of Pogba, just check out the reaction of United’s midfielder towards the end of the match.

After Allen had grabbed the leveller after David de Gea’s mistake and with time running out, Pogba allowed his frustrations to get the better of him.

With the referee just inches away, Pogba decided to grab the former Liverpool midfielder by the neck and wrestle him to the ground. Madness, absolute madness.

Check out Pogba’s aggressiveness here:

It’s hardly surprising that the Frenchman was a little angry. Not only had his side failed to beat the team that sat rock-bottom of the league table, but he produced a rather uninspiring performance.

He missed a glorious opportunity early on after fantastic build-up when he dragged an effort from inside the box wide.

He then headed wide when left totally unmarked from a corner just minutes later.

To compound his misery, he hit the bar from just a few yards out with minutes remaining to complete a hat-trick of missed opportunities.

His reaction to Allen proved one thing. There was only one winner in their battle.

Paul Pogba 0-1 Joe Allen.
