Even the most talented players at youth level can struggle to make the step up when it comes to senior football.

However, Arsenal's Alex Iwobi is proof that young players - if they’re good enough - will still get opportunities to shine at Europe’s biggest clubs.

The 20-year-old has established himself as a first-team regular at the Emirates Stadium in recent months and currently finds himself ahead of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain amongst other gifted teammates in the Gunners’ pecking order.

But if he could sign any player for Arsenal, with the exception of Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, who would it be?

Copa90 posed this very question to the Nigeria international and he named a superstar that would, in all fairness to Iwobi, get into Arsene Wenger’s starting line-up ahead of him.

Iwobi: I would sign Neymar

"Neymar, he's entertaining," Iwobi said, per Goal. "But then again, if we bring in Neymar, that's my position gone!"

Correct, Alex.

While Iwobi is a brilliant talent, no manager in their right mind would play the Arsenal youngster ahead of the world-class Barcelona winger.

Iwobi reveals his best moment so far

Iwobi, during the chat with Copa90, also revealed that his best moment so far in his career involves the Catalan giants.

"My best moment was definitely starting against Barcelona, that was mad," he continued. "It was such an experience. I'm young, it was my first proper start. I wasn't even nervous, just bare excited to play.

"Obviously it's a nice feeling [Arsene Wenger trusts me], it gives you an extra confidence boost. To play in a game of such magnitude, I was buzzing. The fact that I kept playing a couple of games afterwards showed that he had faith in me."

Iwobi on the impact of Jay-Jay Okocha

Iwobi, while playing FIFA 17, also revealed the impact his uncle, Jay-Jay Okocha, has had on his career.

"Growing up I got advice with football but the older I get he's probably helped off the pitch as well," he added.

"As football's such a short career, he's trying to make sure that I'm gonna end up being like him, where he's comfy when he's retired. I want to be as good as him, or even better than him."
