Russell Westbrook has had some problems with superstar friends in recent months (ahem, Kevin Durant), but he hasn't faced such issues while in Spain on preseason duty with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

OKC are set to face Real Madrid and Barcelona during their stay in Spain and with KD now a distant memory, Westbrook is the undisputed leader of their franchise.

In terms of football, Cristiano Ronaldo is the clear leader of Real Madrid.

The two icons from different sports met in Madrid on Sunday night and traded jerseys in a nice show of respect.

Two of the finest athletes in their respective fields coming together - some might say this picture is one to cherish.

The pressure is on Westbrook this season to show he is much more than a triple-double machine; he can lead a playoff contender.

With Victor Oladipo alongside the point guard in the backcourt, the Thunder have the potential to be one of the most exciting and explosive teams in the NBA.

However, when KD was missing for the majority of the 2014-15 campaign, OKC missed out on a spot in the postseason and there are legitimate fears they could suffer a similar decline this time around.

It's down to Westbrook to prove those theories wrong.
