The Oklahoma City Thunder are playing the Real Madrid basketball team tonight in the Spanish capital and already the NBA side are 65-50 to the good at half-time.

However, an explosive moment from Thunder superstar Russell Westbrook has been the highlight of the game thus far.

Westbrook has got nine points, four assists and two rebounds at the break, but his new backcourt partner, Victor Oladipo, leads the way for OKC with 14 points.

Interestingly, new Spanish recruit, Alex Abrines, has chipped in with one three-pointer for the Thunder as well.

However, it is Westbrook that had jaws dropping. The diminutive point guard picked up the rock in his own key before driving the length of the court and throwing down one of his signature jams.

Even the Madrid faithful applauded in awe as the five-time All-Star rampaged to the rim.

Westbrook's time

All eyes are on Westbrook this year to see if the two-time All-Star MVP can carry the Thunder on his back now that Kevin Durant has joined the Golden State Warriors.

That task is not something that will faze Russ and he seems the type of competitor that will relish the challenge.

The triple-double machine is already showing what he plans to do during the 2016-17 campaign in Spain.
