The women's revolution took yet another giant step last night on Monday Night Raw as Charlotte and Sasha Banks main-evented the episode with the Women's Championship on the line.

Charlotte put her title on the line against The Boss, who she initially defeated for the belt to kickstart her second stint as champion.

As for Banks, she was a one-time Women's Champion, but her reign was short lived as Charlotte defeated her at SummerSlam quickly after to reclaim her belt.

The two locked horns once again in the squared circle last night on Raw, and it was a night to remember for Banks as she won her second Women's Championship, defeating Charlotte with the Banks Statement.

It wasn't just a special occasion because of the title being defended, but it was the first time women had been part of the main event on Monday Night Raw since Trish Stratus vs Lita.

Of course, we've had a contract signing between Stephanie McMahon and Brie Bella end a Raw episode, but it's very rare for a women's match to end the show.

After the three-count, and the crowning of Sasha Banks as the new Women's Champion, the WWE locker room expressed their delight and emotion at what had just happened.

Several wrestlers and officials took to Twitter to post messages about the match and the ending, and you can see a select few below, with the likes of Triple H, Nikki Bella, Lana, and Mick Foley all expressing their thoughts.
